Makeover Race is a slightly strange game, the main thrust of which involves smashing your face into cosmetic products. Still, it’s reasonably entertaining, and if you want to get the most out of the experience you’re going to have to learn some things.
Which is why we’ve created this guide. After playing a decent chunk of Makeover Race, we’ve discovered a swathe of strategies that we reckon are going to help you complete every level with ease.
So, whether you’re a make-up mashing novice or you’ve already put your face at risk multiple times in the pursuit of digital beauty, there’s going to be something here to take your game to the next level. These are the best hints, tips and cheats for Makeover Race.
Avoid the insects
When you’re slamming your face into make-up, there are plenty of things you need to avoid. It’s not just the insects, either – it’s the piles of poop, the puddles of poision and probably some other alliterative things starting with P. Basically, if it’s not make-up, don’t whomp your noggin into it.
Look at your shadow
A good tip on a lot of levels is to look at your shadow. That gives you a pretty good idea of where your face, or the face of your client, is going to land when you slam it down. It’s not always the case, and there are levels without shadows, but if you see one, use it to gauge when to tap.
Touch the girls head-on
When you’re spreading muck on other people, you can’t just swipe wildly and hope you touch someone. Instead, walk straight towards the person you want to gunk, and make sure they’re in the middle of the screen. When you reach them you’ll get a short animation. Don’t rinse and repeat and you’ll spread all the filth you need to.
Learn the levels
Many of the levels eventually come back round on repeat, such is the way with games like this. Make sure you’re always paying attention and looking for the best way to finish the challenges put in front of you. Once you’ve nailed a level once, you’ll be able to nail it when it comes round again.
Play the VIP levels
The VIP levels, which you access by watching videos, often offer interesting twists on the gameplay, which makes them well worth checking out. They’re not essential, and if you’re all videoed out, then you’re not missing much if you skip them. But there’s enough difference to them to make them worth your while.
